filling Station bids farewell to outgoing Managing Editor Paul Zits and welcomes Nikki Sheppy as the new Managing Editor.

After two years at the helm of the magazine, Paul is moving on to focus on his teaching career and to nurture his new poetry writing project, dlog, dlog. His manuscript, Leap-seconds, recently won the 2016 Robert Kroetsch Award for Innovative Poetry and will be published by Insomniac Press in the Spring of 2017. Paul also regularly teaches at the Writers’ Guild of Alberta’s WordsWorth Camp at Kamp Kiwanis and the Edmonton Poetry Festival’s Verse Project. fS thanks him for his creative guidance of the magazine these past few years, and wishes him the best in future ventures!

Nikki Sheppy now joins the editorial team as Managing Editor, following two years as filling Station President. She is a poet, literary scholar and arts journalist, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Alberta Magazine Publishers Association. Her poetry manuscript, Grrrrlhood: a ludic suite, won the 2013 John Lent Poetry-Prose Award and was published by Kalamalka Press in 2014. filling Station welcomes her to the team and looks forward to a productive creative partnership!
