filling Station magazine and Shelf Life Books present RITUAL, a live stream launch and panel discussion. RITUAL features three contributors to filling Station's newest issue---poet Leslie Joy Ahenda, artist Jessica Bebenek, and author S.K. Ibra---in dialogue with fS editors Amy LeBlanc and Kyle Flemmer. Tune in at 7pm MST for this coast-to-coast discussion on ritual in art and literature, after which you'll be able to ask the panellists questions of your own in the comments!


Leslie Joy Ahenda is a queer black diasporic poet living on unceded W̱SÁNEĆ and Lekwungen territory. Her work is published or forthcoming in CV2, Homology Lit and NōD Magazine, among others. Find her on Twitter @leslieahenda.

Jessica Bebenek is a writer & interdisciplinary artist, risograph printer & bookmaker at Concordia University’s Centre for Expanded Poetics, where in 2017 she organized the international Occult Poetics Symposium. Her writing has been translated and published internationally, and has twice been nominated for the Pushcart Prize. She is currently completing her first full collection of poetry, No One Knows Us There, and is at work on a non-fiction collection, Writing for Men. @notyrmuse

S.K. Ibra is a third-year student in the Creative Writing and Publishing Bachelor of honors program at Sheridan College. Ibra lives in Toronto, Canada and has worked at an Indigo bookstore for five years.


RITUAL is hosted by Shelf Life Books in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta, Calgary's bookstore for avid readers and the unusually bookish, for browsers and meanderers, for independent minds and spirits.
