Luljeta Lleshanaku


Luljeta Lleshanaku (1968-) was born in Elbasan, and is the author of four poetry collections. She received the 1996 best book of the year award from the Eurorilindja Publishing House. She was educated in literature at the University of Tirana and was chief editor of the weekly magazine, Voice of Youth. She then worked for Drita, her country's oldest and largest cultural publication. She has worked for the daily newspaper, Rilindja. She has translated John Asbery's poetry into Albanian. In 1999, she took part in the International Writers Program at the University of Iowa.
