Jena Osman


Jena Osman's most recent book of poems is "An Essay in Asterisks" (Roof Books, 2004). Her book "The Character" (Beacon Press, 1999) was the winner of the 1998 Barnard New Women Poets Prize. Other publications include "Jury" (Meow Press), "Amblyopia" (Avenue B), and "Twelve Parts of Her" (Burning Deck Press). Her poems have appeared in 'American Letters & Commentary', 'Conjunctions', 'Hambone', 'Verse', 'XCP: Cross-Cultural Poetics', and elsewhere. She is the editor of the literary magazine 'Chain' with Juliana Spahr. Osman received an MA in poetry and playwriting from Brown University, and a PhD in English from the Poetics Program at the State University of New York at Buffalo and teaches in the MFA program at Temple.
