Gary Barwin is a writer, poet, composer, artist, and performer. His book length publications include five poetry collections, including the recent The Porcupinity of the Stars, The Obvious Flap (with Gregory Betts; BookThug), and Franzlations: the Imaginary Kafka Parables (with Hugh Thomas and Craig Conley; New Star); two fiction collections, and a collaborative novel (with Stuart Ross). Barwin received a PhD in Music Composition from SUNY at Buffalo. He maintains a blog at and lives in Hamilton, ON with his family where he is at work on the great Canadian Jewish pirate novel.
