Franck André Jamme


Franck André Jamme lives and works in Paris and in Burgundy, France. Since 1981, he has published nine volumes of poetry and fragments, as well as numerous limited editions illustrated by such artists as James Brown, Olivier debré, and Zao Wou-Ki, among others. He has been very highly regarded by major writers. Henri Michaux referred to him as a "writer of rare quality". In 1983 René Char asked him to direct the publication of his complete works for the Bibliothèque de la Pléiade. He is also a consulting curator focusing on contemporary Indian art, especially in the tantric, brut and tribal fields. Extracts from the Life of a Beetle was published by Black Square and translations of his poetry are included in the anthology The New French Poetry (Bloodaxe).
