After art school, Derrick S. Denholm spent most the last twenty years living and working in the forests of northern and coastal BC. Having come out of the trees briefly to complete an MA in English in 2012, his literary work concerns respect for the wild, social and environmental justice, Indigeneity and industrialized lands. In 2011 he won the Barry McKinnon Chapbook Award for Dead Salmon Dialectics, and has been published in The Capilano Review, Drunken Boat, filling Station, The Goose and ::stonestone::.
