Aaron Giovannone is a poet and translator of poetry from Italian. His work has appeared in journals and magazines in Canada, the US, and Europe. His current projects are a collection of poems titled The Saddest Thing I’ve Ever Heard, and an English translation of twentieth-century Italian poet Sandro Penna. Aaron spent a year at the Universit di Siena on a grant from the International Council for Canadian Studies, and has also been the recipient of grants from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, the Canada Council for the Arts, and a SSHRC doctoral scholarship. Originally from St. Catharines in Ontario’s Niagara Region, Aaron now studies and works at the University of Calgary.
